Re: texas and carolina rigs
On a t-rig you bounce the lure off the bottom, kinda just hopping it from where ti went into the water, back to you. Â*A c-rig doesn't require you to do this, you just reel at a consistent and slow speed back to the boat/shore.

or you can see what the fish wants. you can reel it in fast, slow dead stick it, bounce it, what ever the fish wants. i've been catchin most of my fish lately reeling the t-rigged worm in really slowly.

alright so like the main differnce between the c-rig and t-rig is that the c-rig has a leader before the slip weight anbd bead. and the t-rid has the weight right after the hook.
am i correct? |

Re: texas and carolina rigs
you dont have to have a weight on a t-rig. it can be weightless, or you can oput a weight on. the c-rig has the hook, then the leader, then a swivel, then on your main line, you put a weight, then bead on the main line and tie it to the swivel.

On the t-rig, the weight goes in front of the hook. http://www.bassfishingusa.com/Rigging/rigging1.html

Re: Texas and Carolina rigs
The biggest difference in addition to the way they are rigged is the way they are fished. A t-rig is more of a vertical presentation-lift and let it drop. Good in weeds and around timber. A C-rig is more of a horizontal presentation. You drag the rig rather than lift and drop, keeping it in contact with the bottom. When setting the hook instead of a sharp raise of the rod tip you use a side sweeping motion. You will have better success on a C-rig if you use a long heavy action rod. I use a 7' H action AllStar CRC rod, designed for C-rigging.
