well kinda depends on what you like to fish, the kind of fish, and kinda structure your fishing but I got some ideas.

cranks and spinners you could keep around for a while but no offence if you are going to snag-em up like all my 14 year old nephews and lose them, this might not be the best option.. some spinners and cranks I through for good year or two until they are out dated or i find something better.

cranks i like rapala cost ya 3-5 bucks and you can replace them anywhere.

as for spinners bet's me

as for rubber

I am a total fan I love pitching and flipping anything I can T-rig I got about 5 things I can't do with-out.

1. tube baits doen't matter what brand I just buy them in 25-50 bulk pakages and I only use about 3 colors in them

2. worms I like them all.. I lately have been useing zoom finess worms pks of 20 for around 3 bucks

3. senko's kinda spendy but they do catch fish..Zoom has a replica of them and they are a little less pricy.

4. total brush-hog guy this is my go-to bait. always catch fish on them. anytime anywhere. Â*my fishing buddy will testa fi to this after the butt kicking i gave him last weekend. Â*they replicate a craw. yes another zoom product no i don't sell them..

5. rubber jerks/ flukes what ever you call them for the weekend still learning a bit on there use but i catch lots of fish with them.

don't forget good 1/0 2/0 3/0 hooks and Â*bullet weights I like the black painted ones. Â*seem to have better luck with them, although it may be a confidence thing as well.

hope that helps

I don't have any bait that never leaves my side. I look at conditions: weather, where I'm fishing, how I plan on fishing. Based on that I take different kinds of lures. Theres no one kinfd that leaves my side cause I have different go-to lures for different situations. If I'm fishing all day, or if I'm fishing a tournament, I'll take everything with me.

Could anyone post web sites to tackle stores besides Cabelas and BPS? I would like to look over different companies and maybe smaller producers of lures. Stuff other than Zoom, YUM, Senko, etc. Thanks in advance.

I will first tell you, as everyone has to your posts; every time you go out the same bait will not always produce. You have to check the conditions, and pick the best presantion.

But, I know what you're getting at. I always have 8 rods tied up with something. A Jig-n-pig, worm, spinnerbait, buzz bait, crankbait to name a few.

But, the bait that is always tied on, or as you say "always by your side" is a (S.W.L.) Spinnerbait. Check my signature at the bottom for the website.

These spinnerbaits are Very versitile.
With these spinnerbaits; you can quickly change the blades to anything you want. One blade, two blades, any kind or size blade you want to use. No tools to change blades. The blades clip on and off by hand.
They have better vibration, more action, less roll over, better for slow rolling, less resistance, etc. And on a budget; one lure costs $10. You get one bait with 4 blades (Mini-Kit). With two (Mini-Kits) you would have two baits and eight blades. This equals over 50 combinations you could make out of it. You can also buy many other blade attachments.

The main thing to do it start out small, and work you're way up. Get a small collection of crank baits, soft plastics, spinnerbaits, jigs, topwaters in basic colors. Like Black, green pumpkin, chartreuse, chartreuse/white black and blue, purple. Learn to fish each type of bait well. Then start adding to your collection later down the road.

Good luck in your fishing adventures! You can never start to young, and you have picked one of the most rewarding sports out there!! ;D 8)

http://www.lunkercity.com

Lunkercity has tons of great products. Bearpaws is a great guy who hand pours his baits, but has been expanding into other things other than plastics. Carolina Chip makes custom crankbaits, and topwater. You may find some of the stuff from Lunkercity in the Bigger store, and maybe down the road for bearpaw, and chip, but right now they are online purchasing mostly.

As for crankbaits, these are a little expensive for a younger angler but, well worth the money.

I've never fished Chip's baits so I cant compare. Ill stick with my Thunder Shad's. The reason I pay $15 for any lure is because they last longer, I also use a lot of lucky craft lures. The quality of these lures are much better than cheaper versions. I have a lot of confidence in these lures and thats all that matters. But don't knock'em till you've tried'em... my opinion.

ps. it may be just me, and please point out my mistake if I'm wrong, Chips baits are all about the same price as the ones I suggested??
I am in NO WAY bashing chips baits...
