can you fish buzzbaits in winter months?

Well I would guess it depends on YOUR winter months. I've had very little success using buzzbaits until the water temps hit 55 or above. CAN you catch one below that? Yes, but the odds are pretty small. I would use other baits, and if you want to fish topwater, then use something you can let sit. But you would be better off using other baits, even a Fluke twitched close to the surface, but winter means SLOW presentations, not a Buzzbait.

Absolutely!! Caught alot of fish on it in the winter. There was a BASS Tournament won a few years ago on a buzzbait in the snow...

But it doesn't make near as much noise slidding across the ice.

i've caught fish in 45 degree water with a buzzbait and right after iceout also.

shallow sunny flats.some rocks.minimalweeds at that time of year.

Never rule out the effect a buzzbait can have in regards to a reaction strike. If those cold water fish get a few warm days in a row and there's even a slight increase in water temp, they may move shallower in search of the baitfish that move shallow to feed on the vegetation. Remember sun means photosynthesis (plant growth) and that is going to occur first in shallower water that warms up quicker. A smaller buzzbait can be deadly around weeds and wood even early in the spring.

Caught one on the ol' buzzbait today,it is a bait to be thrown anytime and any weather.
