Default how sweet would this be?

ok lets say you are given permission to be in a pro anglers boat alone for 10 minutes. you have unlimited access to anything and everything in his boat, you can look and touch but not keep anything. question is......what would you spend your 10 minutes looking at?

I'm not smart enough to learn much in ten minutes.... I think I would jump in the drivers seat and open it up!

Etech? come on L.L. i might would consider it if it had a pro xs (zooker will probably reply to this quickly with some sort of VMAX hpdi series 2 nonsense jk zook). organization, looking in their panic box, seeing if the baits used were from companies that actually sponsor the given angler......nobody interested in this?

I personally would be most interested in tackle of all things. See what they have vs. what I have. Look in the rod lockers, tackle bags, search it all through and through...

Truthfully, I would either like an E-Tec or Yamaha V-MAX Series 2. Yet, the oh so queit 4-Stroke Honda sits in the back of my mind. Nahhh...

Who wants a rice-burner?!?

I actually had this happen to me while fishing the Hudson in a BASS Northern Open except it was the pro asking if he could look at my stuff. Ol' C.P. from Tenn. was interested in the baits I used on the Potomac, James, Buggs, and Gaston and asked if he could rummage. I said sure go ahead and he did. He offered me the same and I took advantage by looking at some of his jigs and cranks.

Don't yout think his wife might get mad and that he might get a little uncomfy?

I would have to go with the waypoints as well. Maybe I could slip my SD card in his gps and try to copy some info.

I don't want to spend ten minutes alone with the pro. I want to spend the ten minutes watching the pro fish his strength away from the cameras.

I'd want to see whats tied on at the ends of his rods and how the lure is rigged. Then, just for fun, I'd like to look at his lure collection, only to see just how many lures a pro actually packs up for a days fishing. See how badly the bait monley gottem for.

I dunno if anyone else has posted this link before but if you want to see how much tackle your average pro has check out these videos of bass pro's "tackle rooms" I suggest swindle or reese they both have some rediculous collections.

ineccess...it's not spending ten minutes with a pro, it's getting ten minutes to look through anything you want in his boat.

Well, I'd take atleast acouple minutes to scan the pro's livewell and see what the fish have regurgitated. That way, I'll know what to bring with me to follow up on the pro.

Sorry L-L but this was back in the day before all cell phones had camera's. Or at least before mine did but at the time I was stuck in the late 1990's with my technology. And I didn't have a camera with me.

I will say that his stuff was very neatly organized. He had a couple boxes of crankbaits, jigs, and plastics but not as much as you would expect. He did have a lot of extra gear like tools, trolling motor, rain suit, etc. Very important to make sure you get back to the dock on time after you catch that big limit of fish

I don't know what I would learn in 10 mins. I do know that their advantage comes from hours & hours of rod/reel time...they can hurl lures 70+ yards with accuracy, cast both left and right handed and thread the needle when it counts...I've read almost every autobiography and they all point to PRESENTATION..it's the key to winning..of course picking the right lure helps..I don't who has read Iaconelli's book, but he talks a lot about working at Dick's Sporting Goods and attributing his 8 hours/day casting into a kiddie pool as the reasons for his success as a pro.

I'd also have to look at what he had rigged. Then, just for fun, i'd back off all of his drags and brakes!
