Re: what to use
i would find some deeper cover like a brush pile or old road that runs through the lake and use a carolina rig. color would depend on a lot of things but around here i like a pumpkin seed color. if that didn't produce then maybe find some stumps or standing timber and throw a crankbait that will reach the bottom....don't be affraid to let the bait bump the trees and or the bottom. you may get hung up on occasion but if your not getting hung up your not around the fish. also a crankbait with a squared off bill will help combat hangin up. also real early in the morning and late of an evening i like to through a larger topwater, in my case my favorites are a loud buzzbait and a zara spook.

Re: what to use
Take and find a log in the water and put you a lizard with a sliding sinker and cast it out 10 or 12 foot and let it lay on the bottom and the bass will think that the lizard is going to kill its eggs and the bass will try to kill the lizard.
