TIPS FOR BASS FISHING, CANT SEEM TO AVIOD PICKEREL

I'M 18 AND I JUST RECENTLY GOT BACK INTO FISHING WHEN I MOVED INTO A DIFFERENT HOUSE WITH SOMEWHERE AROUND 40 ACRES, MUCH OF IT ALONG A RIVER, THERE ARE A LOT OF PLACES TO FISH IN MY AREA BUT I'M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WHERE EVER I FISH, I CANT SEEM TO CATCH ANY GAMEFISH BUT PICKEREL, I DONT KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT BASS FISHING SO ANY TIPS WILL HELP ME....THANKS

being that bass and pickeral hang out at the same spots sometimes this is unavoidable.

Lately I've had the same problem on the river that I fish. I Normally tear the bass up on a buzzbait and spinnerbait but this past weekend all i caught on them were pickerel. So i changed to a worm to avoid them and finally started catching bass. So i would say throw something like a worm or plastic bait, something that dont look like a baitfish and isnt flashy to avoid the pike.

Same habitat, same diet, they will hit the bass lures, even plastic worms. I caught two on a soft jerkbait today.

I also agree. Same habitat and they'll take the same lures, including plastic worms amd other soft plastics.

In the meantime, enjoy the pickerel. In my experience they fight better than largemouth.

Thank you for your support guys. I got the same PM 02 got. I will no longer be replying to any of his posts. All I did was tell him to do a search the next time. I even did the search myself and gave him the link. And no I didn't send him a PM. He just wants attention and he won't be getting it from me. I don't have the time to argue with him.

Just a suggestion. The next time you get a PM like that, copy and paste it in a Email or PM to Kevin. He really does keep the site pretty clean. If the guy is sending you PM's then I'm sure Kevin could take care of the issue PERMENANTLY

well u cant avoid fish like that. they are natrual preditors, and their going to attack almost everthing that goes by them. so your gona have to fish them with the bass you cant stop them.

Too bad - seemed like a nice youngster. Unfortunatley, a few see this and fishing other sites as one would a site about professional wrestiling - no class/anything goes.

Sanitize them and then outahere! Don't want to be distracted by anything except fishing!
