actually, my dad used to use an older version, and he said they were better than a regular hula

With the regular Crickhopper and I am sure you can use this technique with the Popper version as well. I would make a cast with it and let it sit until the water goes calm from the splash. Then gently shake your rod tip from left to right. This will cause small movement in the lure causing it to look like a grasshopper moving on top of the water. This sutle movement will cause some vicious strikes. That little lure on 4lb ultralight tackle will lay waste to brim, crappie and shellcrackers. Hope this helps!

Yes I have several. They work, but usually for smaller fish, including bluegills. I quit using them, because I couldn't catch any bass on them. It's nothing more than a smaller hula pooper designed to look like a grasshopper.

My neighbor got one last year and caught lots of bass on his he got one that was around 5lbs on one so I would say get one and try it. They do work. He got the Green one with the orange bottom on it. don't recall the color it is called.
