Default hooks

i was looking for a topic on the hooks everyone used for soft plastics but can't find any so i thought i would start one asking what brand of hooks do you use when fishing soft plastics

i used to use the Gamakatsu's all the time but after awhile i realised how many fish i was missing so i bought a pack of owner's and eagle claw laser sharp. i really like the owner's i am landing more fish now then ever. maybe it wasn't the hook but i don't think i will be switching back. i just bought 500 so i should be set for awhile

so whats your favorite hook out there?

I use Gamakatsu and Eagle Claw Laser Sharps more than anything. Regardless of the brand I always keep a hook sharpener handy and always check to make sure the hook is sharp before I throw it.

Definately Gamakatsu. Eagle Claws aren't sharp at all. I've never tried owner.

You make a good point, tequila-for a Texas rig I use TruTurn, but for all other applications-flukes, Tiki Sticks, anything other than a true Texas rig with a sinker I use an offset shank or EWG worm hook. For a T-rig with a big worm it is tough to beat a 2/0 or 3/0 brute TruTurn.

Yeah...I should have said worms only.....

I love flukes and I use the offset longshank hooks on them.

On my cranks, I use mostly Gammy's.

I like the Eagle Claws because they are cheap and they seem pretty sharp to me and I never lose them.

Myself, I'm a Daiichi man. Qwners are really good hooks, and I never liked Eagle claw or Gammies, But all you will find in my box is Daiichis. The worlds sharpest.

VMC for me. I don't have to sharpen them, they bite me every time I take one out of the package.

I try to replace my crankbaits with Owner, and use
Gamakatsu 3/0 offset for most of the plastics.
I always used to use the aberdine style hook and in about any brand, and as I have stated before almost all the hooks now adays are pretty darn sharp right out of the pack...the owner treble hooks on rogues are the stickiest - sharpest hooks I've ever seen, they grab your clothes, the boat carpet, and just about anything that gets near them, sometimes I almost feel sorry for the bass when you see one in their throat, one in the mouth and one on the gill plate...(almost feel bad lol)

I never had any huge brand preference. VMC, Gamakatsu, Eagle Claw, Mustad and others have all been effective.
