Default Catching bigger fish! Here Ya go!

I know alot of you guy's go out and catch upto 100 dinks and a day and that is fine w/ me if thats what you like doing. But here are a few tips and suggestions for those of you who wanna catch a bigger average fish, this means you will also catch alot less but much bigger fish.

First Step..
Tackle: Your gonna need a bit heavier rods than you may usally use for these bigger fish and bigger baits.
Suggested Tackle MH and H action rods a few situations in more open water M action is ok. I go w/ no less than 14lb line upto 20lb. I also only use casting tackle.

Second Step:
Bigger baits: Step up to the bigger bait that biggest fish in the lake wont pass up. Suggested baits
Plastics
Zoom Brush Hog 6" 5/0 super line hooks (weight varies) T/c rigged
10" power worms T/c rigged
6" senkos weigtless 5/0 super line hooks

Wirebaits
Large profile spinnerbaits
BUZZBAITS

Hardbaits:
Super Spook
Sammy 115 128's
LC BDS crankbaits
Bagley's DB3's

Other baits:
Sumo and Snag Proof Frogs
Strom Wildeye swimbaits 4-5"

(please note I dont fish live bait, it does catch alot of big fish but I dont like it)

Be sure and give some of these big baits a try, dont be scared almost all of these baits will catch all size fish just get the attention of larger fish aswell.

Anyone feel free to add your favorite BIG FISH baits aswell!

Definatley I gave up my 4" worms for 10" ones. Some guys complain about catching only little bass I figured I catch some decent fish so I am giving some tips that worked for me.

TM how long have you fished? and are those pictures the only big fish you have caught? cause how do we know if you really catch quality sized fish everytime? maybe those 20-30 pictures are THE only big bass you have caught in your life time... maybe your a dinky catcher yourself and are just convering it all up

Good post TM, I have a question. Most of the crankbaits posted are expensive,($10+). Would a big norman or lee sisson crank get the job done??

What brands make a decent 10 inch power worm? I've yet to see any worms this size at any local stores (trout and salmon fishing is a lot more popular here.)

Power worms are made by berkley. The series of plastics is called powerbait, lots of people use them.

Tm, you forgot the good ol' jig. It has been known as a big bass bait for quite a while. And although big baits may catch big fish, there are some times(a lot of times) when big baits won't catch anything.

Your right on the JIG, sorry I forgot :-[ I like a real big profile one. Around here big baits will catch all the time however a finesse worm and small baits may out fish it at times but probably not for bigger fish.

Hey Guy's,

Dont think I am trying to claim I am a all knowing master bass fisherman because I am not. I am just sharing some of the baits that I have fished in quite a few different states and all produced better than average fish for the area. I know at least one person will catch a nice bass w/ this new knolage.

Yep. A lot of jigs come with a fairly long silicon skirt that a lot of time won't spread out all that much. I like to trim the skirt some, so when it is in the water the skirt spreads out more and gives it a bigger profile.

I use the paca chunk or the mini paca craw for most of my jig trailers.
