Best way to use a tube when flipping??
When i have a flipping stick and i am going to throw a tube under some docks and along the points, what pound test line should i be using on that flipping stick, and what are the best tubes to use right now?? I have had no luck on the Strike King bleeding tubes. Fishing Lake Erie waters here in Ohio.

Re: Best way to use a tube when flipping??
Web, Why are you throwing tubes under docks on Erie at this time of year for ? You are not actually flippin so I don't see the need for a flipping stick, a 6'6" MH rod will work fine, easier to handle around tight cover and can handle the points and flats fine as well. The Strike King tube is a good tube to use.Watermelon/gold flake or anything Goby color works well on Erie.I hope this helps.Try a white bladed spinnerbait for the Smallmouths as well. I hope this helps.P N J

Re: Best way to use a tube when flipping??
Our last club tournament on Sunday was in the east and west harbors in Erie, that is why i was flipping under docks. Not alot of choices to choose from and alot of our members caught them this way. Alot of our members did this and caught alot of bass, but I had no luck

Welcome to the forum, web!
For flipping I use 50 lb Powerpro braid. 12 lb mono diameter but a whole lot tougher. |

if you are using mono around docks i would use 17-20 lb. test.i am trying cajun red cast this year and so far it works great.it's limp but highly abrasion resistant.i tried the cajun red lightning but it's just to stiff.
