Default Do bass eat just about anything?

I was fishing last year, and I ran out of worms and corn after fishing the whole day. So, I didn't want to be done after I caught one more fish, so I took a white little puffed up flower (it was about the size of a dime) from the ground and put it on my hook. To my surprise, I cast out my line, and within a few minutes, I had something tug on my line. It tugged hard, and I had to fight for it. My point is, do bass eat anything that looks like a fly/is shiny/food?

Yeah, once anyways. They're probably a lot like toddlers or little kids. They'll put anything in their mouths once. If they don't like it, then they probably won't eat it again.

If a bass eats the plastic bait I invented (the daddy long legs) from my site ( http://www.mymomisbecky.com then they will eat anything. although it does have awesome action, it doesnt resemble much, except maybe a squid.

but they have a lot of fish oil in them so is non-staining if they were real paint it would stain real bad. not all brands have fish oil tho, i think its just nelson brands now. most of them the main ingredient is water, it makes them water-souluble

Once, when prey fish stocks were low, somehow our flasher starting ringing. Then we heard a bass ordering a pizza (Pan Crust!) from P.Hut. Honest!
That proves they will eat darn near anything.
Sure enough, less than 30 minutes later, some kid with SCUBA gear and a large white and flat box appeared nearby, dove, then surfaced w/o the box but with a generous tip in his hand. Amazing, ain't it?

This is off subject, but I was reminded of it from the first post in this thread.

I don't think it is good to use corn to fish with. A friend of mine was fishing for trout. He kept them and when he was cleaning them out, their stomach's were FULL of corn.

I think fish like to eat it but can't digest it. Just like we can't really. Only their butt hole isn't big enough to crap it out.

I may be way off base in my thinking but I think it's not good for the fish as bait and definatley not good to chum with.

Corn catches catfish in the morning really well, just cast it (without a weight) and let it sit there. Morning is around 9am - 12pm
