Default these things make yamamoto look cheap

http://www.landbigfish.com/tacklesto...e.cfm?PID=3375

now honestly, who would pay $11 for an 8 pack of soft plastics? And anyways, when I'm using a stickbait a lot of times I want a finnesse approach, so why have the rattles?

Thats a version of a Slug-O...Something else made to catch fishermen... Everything Yamamoto has is expensive. That why I buy kinami...The same plastic, just cheaper!!

It is pretty steep. But I really had to laugh when I saw the Crankbait prices right under those Heck of a price, everyone of them over $22 :P Dang Chip will make you a custom lure of your choice for that, and probably throw in another one. Lets see Chip is actually going to remanufacture a Lure that is to my knowledge out of production for me for $18 a piece, with ten times the work that those would require, and a custom paint job also. He has proven to me his quality is very, very good. Sorry, but those are just a little too pricey even for the Bait Elephant to force me to Buy I'll stick with Chip's stuff. ;D

I'm sure there are anglers out there who will pay $11 for an 8-pack, because they think more expensive means more attractiveness to fish.

Not quite true. As an example, the Senko is $6 for a 10-pack, while the Kinami Flash is $4 for a 7-pack. That's the key thing to notice, that there are fewer in the Kinami package. The actual unit cost is 57¢ vs. 60¢ for the Senko.

I think Slug-gos are about 30 cents a piece.

Do not under estimate the sluggo for its fish catching ability. The majority of the people here in my bass club are still using sluggos over senko type baits or super fluke type baits. Its not that the price that makes them fish them its that they catch alot of fish that makes them fish them. P N J

HulaPopr, I agree! That's ridiculous to pay that much for soft plastics.

flippnfish, as you mentioned Kinami is also made by Yamamoto Enterprises (Gary's son to be exact). As far as you saving any money though, it's not much if anything at all, because the price is cheaper per bag, but your getting less baits per bag. When it's all said and done, the price per bait is relatively the same.

That price doesn't surprise me at all. Megabass was the first manufacturer to start asking $16.00 to $24.00 bucks for hard baits back in the early '90's.

Lunker City generally makes good stuff. Except that Salad Spoon I tried out last year... well, that experiment didn't go so well for me, at least I learned to to buy those again.

They make the Fleck Weed Wader spinnerbait. Not the cheapest spinnerbait, but I hear good things about them, especially, as the name suggests, in weeds.
