Default Baitcasters

I have never tried a baitcaster, and i was wondering what are the advantages of a baitaster vs. a spinning?

The main ones are you can use heavier baits, fish heavier cover, and use heavier lines. I feel like I have more control with a baitcaster, but really it comes down to personal preference. Spinning rods do have their place, though-light baits and throwing into a strong wind are just 2.

Spinning, for me is my most used rod type. I can Do anything on a spinning rod, thank god for superlines, no not braid Im talkin Fireline. I can have 20lb test on my spinning reel, which is equal to 8lb test mono. A good all around Bass Rod is a 6ft 6in MH, I own a 6ft MH, but hey, It is the only length that a HMX Spinning rod comes in MH. I am happy with that rod too. It is the best rod I own(ed).
I also use baitcating. I employ a Quantum Tourney Grade IM8 graphite rod. It is a Medium action, but it is 6ft 6in and has a fast action, meaning only the top 1/4 bends. I use a Rhino Baitcasting reel, and love it. It is the best baitcaster I have used to this day. And they are tough, the thing is a winch.

well at first baitcasters are hard to control, when i got my first,i had a little trouble,it kept backlashing. but then soon enough i got the hang of things.in my opinion they look a little nicer, thats actually the only reason i got it,but after a while i knew to use it with some lures and dont

whenever you cast out, and the bait slows down quicker than the spool slows down. When this happens, you'll have a big wad of fishing line sticking out on the reel. Some people call it "getting a birds nest" because it looks like one. Anyway, long and short, if the spool is putting out line faster than whats pulling on it(i.e. the lure) then you're gonna get backlash.

Look into instructions for thumb breaking which is what you use to control the speed of the spool and keep backlash from happening.

I personally only use spinning reels for drop-shotting and crappie fishing....IMHO, you lose fewer fish on baitcasters than on spinning. Like, has been stated, Reb nailed it on the head

Catch em up
