Spinnerbaits When and How
I normally fish with plastic Lizards, Spinnerbaits, and sometimes buzzbaits. I wont say how I fish them, cause thats just wrong. Im a 15 year old AM, and was just wondering if anyone had any tips on when and how to present these lures successfully. Maybe ill privately E-mail you some successfull tips that i've learned.

Most recently, I used a spinnerbait like a jig. I hopped it acrossed the bottom of a shallow lake <8ft. The fish were tight to the bottom. It worked. Also, I like using spinners on cloudy days or in muddied water. Slow rolling worked well for me this winter. And, in general, I like using them around laydowns. The single hook and blade help them glide through a laydown without getting snagged.

i reel mine so that it comes on the top of the water and leaves a wake, but never breaks the surface. run this over weeds lines and cover. or use like a yo-yo technique. reel it, then let it drop ect.

an easier question would be when not to use them..
any time the water is stained and or wind blown.. how depends on the fish speed is key. a little one way or another in speed will result in no fish grabbing it.. avoid useing them in clear calm water.. zooker

On the subject of spinnerbaits, they're always good. Fish 'em slow and deep during winter, right along the dropoff during the prespawn, Mid depth in fall, shallow and fast in summer, If you use a good technique, they'll usually produce.

My personal theory on spinnerbaits, whenever you can get fish to bite on a spinner, you can get them to bite better on something else.

That would mean that they are a very effective technique for covering large areas to find where the fish are though right?

well with that said, I fish a lot of clear water. nothing natural looking about a spinner dinner. They have a shad profile while vibrating water. What else do you know of thats similar...........you guessed it, crankbaits.

I admit to only using spinners a coule times last year. Now I realize these should be a standard part of my fishing up here so I am making a lot of changes this year, just picked up a coule War Eagles last weekend. Last year the only thing I did catch on one was a medium sized sized pike.

all the waters i fish are clear with acouple exceptions and if i get a bite on a crankbait i usally will catch more fish on the spinnerbaits
but like i said were are so far apart thr fishing is bound to be alittle different

I'm with the rest..if you know so damn much about when and how to fish a spinnerbait, then why did you even ask the question. I wasn't going to bother replyin in the first place since your first post sounded like a jackass, already..but just thought I'd chime in and say you sound like a snob that THINKS they know "all the right ways" but really don't know anything.

Immaturity at it's finest. If you don't want to share your tips thats fine, but don't come out and say you know all these great ways to do it and try and rub it in. Personally for me, I'm new to the bass game as of last year, and I pick up so many tips from forums and whatnot from quality posters. Any news I have or tips I've heard, I spread the word as much as I can, never can have enough tips and strategies
