Default BubbleGum

I watched a guy today fish spawning bass about 7-8 ft deep with a bubblegum lizard. Â*The water clarity was pretty clear and the pink color of bubblegum is easy to watch, esp important when trying to see the bass pick it up just to attack it or move it.
After about 20 minutes of running the lizzy through the beds the bass finally bit.
I don't think I'd have the patience to stick to one bass for that long but it paid off today.
I 'm not sure bubblegum is a hot color or more the fact the angler can see it..maybe a combo of both eh? ???

Pink is a good color. I use it all the time with floating worms and every now and again with spinnerbaits. I think the visibility is one part of its effectiveness, but then again pink is probably associated in a predators mind (or instinct) with either blood or exposed flesh and thus it probably triggers a bit of a predatory responce(or so I guess).

I had a pack of Culprit Jerk Worms in the bubblegum color which I never used. One evening I decided to try one. When I took it out of the pack, my friend and partner sorta laughed and said what a bizarre color. On the first cast with it, a three-pounder smashed it as soon as it landed and my partner never again made fun of any color I used.

i live in southern california, and just until i read this post i always thought pink was a horrilble color, that is until it just hit me, southern california lakes constantly stock rainbow trout so maybe thats one of the reason for the pink color working??? hmmm

My buddy turned me on to bubblegum. I bought a pack of bubblegum flukes and caught a bunch on them. It's a color I keep on me year round. Works good from clear to muddy water.
