Help with large lake
Hey all,
I'm a long time recreational fisherman but recently decided to up my game a bit. I started reading the posts here and have found many to be very useful. I seem to do okay in smaller lakes but feel a bit lost in the larger lakes. I don't have a boat, so usually I fish from the shore unless a canoe or flat bottom is available to rent. There is a section of a 14,000 acre lake that I am interested in fishing. The shore line is quite accessible. I chose the area after looking at a map of the lake on mapquest.com. If you're interested, look at the area just south of Farrington (particularly the long point, bridge, and landlocked areas.) You'll have to zoom in a little. http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...c&zipcode= For the most part, there appears to be little cover but decent structure. The shoreline has minimal vegetation and is fairly barren due to erosion. It is mostly dirt, clay, and a few rocks. I am not sure about water depths, but I’m guessing there are gradual and steep drop offs. Visibility is currently at no more than two feet at the surface. A severe storm passed through last night. Daytime temps are 90’s and nighttime temps are 70’s. I plan to fish mornings mostly. Any suggestions? Thanks. |
