That is frustrating, no question. You had the hardest part done-you found the fish. Then you have to experiment. They didn't want the jig or crankbait, so I would try a soft jerkbait like a Zoom Super Fluke or a Tiki Stick.

I would agree with rebasser on the tiki stick, rig one wacky and watch your line.set the hook at the slightest tick or nibble on the line.............

If all else fails, try live bait. If they reject that, they fed recently and won't feed for a few more days.

You put a hook right through the middle of the bait.

Look under the wacky rig section:

It's supposed to sink. Although I guess you could do a kind of carolina rig. I've never done it I was just thinking that a carolina rig might work. The tiki stick will sink. Â*You twitch it a little and both ends of the tiki stick will move around thus enticing bass a little more.

Sometimes the fish will hammer it and I find in most cases all you'll feel is pressure.

Use Daiichi Bleeding Bait Hooks to trigger the strikes!
If they are just looking at it they have no reason to strike. Give them a reason by making it look like an easy meal. It'll look like the bait is injured.

Tyrant-I can't recall ever feeling a hit on a wacky rig. What happens is your line starts tightening up or moving off to one side. When that happens, set the hook.

I have used a Tiki stick wacky rig many times and almost everytime the fish just suck it up on the fall you really have to be watching your line and be ready to set that hook.
The fish will not hold it in for more than a second or two so you have to be on your mark.
