the fish more then likely didnt like (1) size of spinnerbait (2) color (3) the spinnerbait, or (4) the presentation. i would have thrown a follow up bait where the fish was. oh, also if you saw the fish, it saw you, most likely making it suspicious. but if thats not the case i would have thrown a t-rigged worm into the area.

i would have thrown a follow up bait like a t-rigged worm, or maybe a jig.

Put a grub on the hook for a trailer. And throw a white tube or fluke as a follow up bait. Next time reel it faster, so they have less time to look at it. "IF" they were active, believe me when I tell you, that you can't reel fast enough for them to not get it, no matter how hard you try, if they want it, they'll get it.

if the bass wanted to eat it, he would. because of their speed and how good of predator they are, there is never a time that a bass can't eat your lure. I woulda thrown back with a tube to those fish or possibly reeled faster to trigger a reaction bite. a texas rigged tube or worm thrown back right away should have done the trick.

you now its funny that day i saw some fish jumping here and there so i said what the hec ill go out, but i made the mistake of only bringing my spinnerbait rod and no takle box, otherwise i would have thrown a worm, fluke, or tube as a follow up bait and, i was realing as hard as i could but with that #5 blade it was gettin pritty hard and to top it all off my chronarchs gear ratio is 6:2.1 + i was doin all sorts of things to make it dance and die so as you can imagine my rist was killin me. :P

Sometimes when the water is too clear the bass will follow but never strike the spinnerbait,
The best scenerio for spinnerbait fishing is stained off color water that is still green , but not totally clear, so when the spinnerbait goes by the bass, the flash of a group of bait fish and the added attraction of skirt and grub tail, the bass hits out of instinct.
The more they get to look at it, the less chance your going to get bit.
course,, thats what makes it so exciting now isn't it?
So what to do? If ya see that again throw back with a worm or plastic or even crankbait..I'd prob go to the worm.... 8)
