yes, use a lipless crank and work it so it is just hitting the top of the grass and when it gets stuck jerk it and rip it through. you will get some vicious strikes.

Don't rule out topwaters in this case. Is the grass the slimy kind? Because most vegetation that I'm familiar with will allow a weedless soft plastic to come through without getting the grass all over it.

Sounds good to me. Normally I describe it in terms that are generally frowned upon by moderators of family-oriented forums. :-X

The only suggestion that comes to mind is a t-rig with a slender profile bait(senko, tiki, etc) And use one heck of alot of Garlic Flavored cooking spray to help with the sticking problem. I have the same problem occasionally, but I still have to keep cleaning off stuff. A PNJ, will catch alot more of the stuff though. Come to think of it a Mann's Jelly worm , might also do the trick, and I don't know what they put in them, but they're really slippery?

LiL' Piglet, If your suppose to be as our name implies, you already know that flipping a heavy jig on the grass will catch alot of bass.Don't worry about the snot moss, it will collect on the jig when you retrieve it, but it floats off as the jig falls back through the grass.I go back down through where I have located the fish with a soft plastic bait, usually a 10" worm with a penetrator weight and fish it again.Buzzbait over the grass at dusk and dawn.I hope this helps you, great user name. ;D P N J

Depending on if the fish are still on their beds in the area your fishing it might be a good spot. What kind of grass is it? If it is milfoil it should hold some post-spawn bass. Try avoiding the slime or "snot moss" if possible. The slime gets in their gills and chokes them. I would try throwing a popper or trickworm. Hope this helps.
