I recently bought a new rod and my reel doesnt quite fit all the way tight to it, what can i put on my reel seat to ensure a tight fit without hampering sensitivity.....i was thinking a little bit of electric tape or something......any ideas would be appreciated, thx!

i guess ya mean the reel foot is smaller than the seat. i would turn the seat tightener a tad tighter to see if this helps. i have not come a crossed this problem with my rods but it does happen .

I had an ugly stick that wouldn't quite tighten up on a Garcia 5600, and yea I used electrical tape - worked like a charm.

put a dime or a small washer between the reel seat and the rod, tighten it down, should be tight.

I've used a piece of thin gasket material cut to fit the reel seat.
