Berkley Transition = Garbage
I wasted $14 dollars on this crap. Sure it might be "virtually invisible" under the surface and it is gold above the water, but what good is it if it has the strength of dental floss. I can't get a trilene knot or polomar knot to hold this junk. Caught a 6.5lb'r this afternoon and this 12lb line snapped like a bean trying to lift her out of the water. Looks like I'm going back to Iron Silk. Anyone know of any good braid that casts smooth on a baitcaster? Tried spiderline, didn't like it too much.

Re: Berkley Transition = Garbage
I like the Iron Silk myself, but I am thinking about getting some 10.lb Suffix for my baitcaster setups. I already use the 8.lb on spinning tackle and it is awesome!

Re: Berkley Transition = Garbage
Spiderwire Stealth is smoother than Power Pro because of teflon coating. It makes less noise when passing through the tip guide. However, I like PP for myself better than Steath. PP is tightly woven (which means PP is stronger), lighter in weight and thinner in diameter than Stealth.

Reb, I agree that IronSilk is crap. And love the comment about you looking at it wrong ,......And yeah, I would give Power Pro a try...Plus, you don't have to replace the stuiff for like 3 years....It's pretty awesome.

I agree with that completely. Stealth is quieter on my baitcaster than PP, but it has a much thicker diameter. I'd go with PP if you can get some, but stealth is a not so far off second. |

Re: Berkley Transition = Garbage
I like the Power Pro, casts much more smooth than any of the others. I still like to stick with mono, or florocarbon line.......

Re: Berkley Transition = Garbage
Thanks fellas. Picked up some Power Pro and I love it. Casts better on my Quantum than mono does. I love this website. You guys rock!
