Default best approach

What do you consider to be the "best" approach for shorline casting? Would it be parallel to the shore or towards or away from the shore? This would be in shallow water, 0 to 5 ft. Any color water or cover.

I'd throw parallel unless you had a specific target out from shore. I'd also fan cast from one side to the other.

Get some waders, and walk out a few feet, and cast parrallel to the shore. You can also get to those places where the trees prevent you from getting to. Allows you alot more flexibility as to where you can put baits. Heck you already should have a good set of waders coming around here

Cast parallel and close to shore both right and left....then as noted, fan casting outward. If wading, cast a few from shore first, then wading in.
