Default Berkley rods

Are they any good? I want to buy one at walmart for $30.00. It is a one piece 6' medium heavy. I forget that the name of it was. It was a really strong rod. I wanted to get that rod with a mitchell reel for $20.00. But i didnt have the money at the time and i am goin to get my paycheck tomorrow and pay my mom back but she refused to get it for me. > I WAS SO MAD! I'm goiin to amwell lake tomorrow and wanted to use it but.......AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!! What ever. I cant get it tonight so i shouldnt worry about it. Thanks for the posts.

The only Berkley rod I have used is a Lightnin' Rod, and it is a good rod. Still using them as a matter of fact.

Get the one you are happiest with. In the past month I've bought 3 new ones-2 Falcon Low Riders and an American Rodsmith topwater rod. didn't really "need" any of them ;D. Actually I needed one-I busted the tip on my C-rig rod a few weeks back.

Nope-an AllStar. Â*Left it strapped to the deck rather than in the rod box on the trip home and it got whacked against the trolling motor. Â*On the plus side I never really liked that particular rod so I got a Falcon Carolina Lizard Dragger instead. Â*I likee!

I busted a berkly cherrywood rod a couple weeks ago, definately wasn't a hard enough blow to break the rod, there was either a hairline crack or berkly rods really suck.

quantum rods and reels seem to be nice, and you can get relatively inexpensives combos

I have a berkley super flats rodl designed for bay fishing. Ive hauled quite a few 7lb+ redfish with it, and its held up very well. Its ML action too.
