Motorguide foot pedal button
Ive been fishin minn kota TM's for about 10 years and recently got a new boat with a tour Motorguide. The motor seems to be real nice but the "go" button on the pedal is on the right. I'm right handed (or footed) and find it hard to control the motor without falsely pressing the "go" button. All my old MK's had the button on the left of the pedal and I found it easy to steer without pressing the button. Is it just me?? Do I need to just get used to it after so many years with MK's??? Anyone else have this problem... ur input would be greatly appreciated.

Yea. Â*You'll get used to it. Â*I've had the button on both sides, and in the middle. Â*It is annoying.
Now that I think of it, my MG's button is on the left too. Go figure? |

Re: Motorguide foot pedal button
Those pros make operating the foot controlled motors looks so easy. I took a friend out fishing once, we went in his boat, but he wanted me to operate the trolling motor pedal and I couldn't cut it. I guess with practice it would be easier. Gonna find out when I upgrade my boat someday.

Re: Motorguide foot pedal button
It does WT. It doesn't take long either. In a couple hours, you get the hang of it, and the more you use one the less you think of it. I never look at the direction indicator anymore, unless I just want to make sure I'm not pointing at something really close before I hit the power.
Since I set down most of the time to fish, it's not so important to me anymore, but if I stood up, I'd have to have one of the new recessed foot pedals. (A hole in the floor the foot pedal sets in.) You can keep both feet flat on the floor, rather than standing on one foot like a heron. That has to be the best idea for bass boats since the foot control motor. So simple you wonder "Why didn't I think of that?" |
