braided line
went up to wacky worm to pick up 40# power pro. but they had spiderline spiderwire plan red box with black in lower left with with spider in the center. on sale for $12 the guy there didn't know much about braided lines and neither do i so i bought it. got home spooled it up, cast it out and think to myself "wow this is nice stuff" however when i went to reel it in i noticed a scratching noise. and i was afraid that it might be cutting the guides????
is the sound normal or should i be worried? i don't want to turn my st croix into a pos. |

Not to worry. It is loud compared to mono, but with a quality rod like that there shouldn't be a problem. When the superlines first came out there was a problem with them cutting a groove in the line guides, but since then they have been improved to where it is no longer an issue.

I like power pro better than spider wire but it still works good......... Just doesnt last as long and tends to loose its color faster
