Still working on that myself. Â*Due to the depth it limits a bit the baits you can use, but there are still baits that will work. Â*A Carolina rig will cover the bottom, as will a jigging spoon, a jig-n-pig, but I've had the best luck using a lead head jig and a soft plastic body on a spinning rod.

I believe that most of us are in the same boat Probably why you haven't recieved too many replies. I think the guys who fish NY/NJ area have lots of deep lakes. I've been trying to catch the suspending bass for years with very little success. :-[. If they are close to the bottom, a c-rig has been my best.

In Arkansas on the deep clear lakes if the bass are suspended I use suspending rogues that run around 10ft. If the fish are deep but not suspended I have the best luck throwing a texas rigged culprit red shad worm with a 1/2 oz. tungsten sinker.

Jigging spoons work real well as well as tail spinners jigged vertically. But that stuff takes a lot of hours in practice before a person starts getting the hang of it. Most guys just want to fish or catch.
