i would say no to crank baits in the post spawn my self have caught more bass on plastic baits. small and compact would be the way to go. sutle movements are a must.

umm to tell you the truth lizzy i rip the legs off my lizards during this time. they want less movement and 4" baits. or so i have found.

umm 70 degrees in your neck of the woods they tend to spawn the first full moon after water temps hit 60 degees here.

Well I went back to doing some more research again, and here's a link to an article from bassresource. I WAS WRONG so I apologize and removed my posts :-[

Here is a link to the article. Sorry but I'm not perfect. And obviously I can be wrong from time to time.

This year has been a lot later than most for the spawn.
True you hear about spawning in the 60s but up here in Southern Ohio the bass are just now starting to spawn,
and last night the water temp felt real nice and warm, pushing 70.
I figure that if the bass are in 5-7 ft of water spawning perhaps down there its cooler than a surface temp of upper 60's
Sometimes ya see bass nesting in 2-3 or 3-5 ft range, and I am convinced there must be a few week span where some have spawn, and others havent yet.. I am betting on the size makes the dif when they spawn if conditions are right, the small male is always ready to go, its the female that makes the decision of when n where..sound familiar? lol ;D

I have always heard and have been told when the bass
are moody and are not in the mood to bite ,just down size.
