insects
on the AR river the mayflies are starting to fall from the trees and the bass are poping the water like ive never seen what do yall know about this and how does it change the feeding habits of bass.

Ran into that last July. Try a small popper, or if the bluegill are up feeding use a small bait that resembles a bluegill.

I usally use a small buzzbait or a jitter bug. i caught 5 off one tree yesterday.

i would try a popper and a spinnerbait under the area where they are droppin.

I would try a flyrod if you have one. You have to offer what they are feeding on.

Yummy, yummy Mayflies. Small baits and top water is a good place to start. Johnson makes a small beetlespin that would work really well. Not sure what brand, but i have some tiny frogs, about quarter-size or smaller, gold in color. I would look for those too.

We have them normally around the first week of June (so soon), and I always go out with a flyrod and arcadia type popper and catch as ton of bream and sometimes bass. Bass will often feed on bream, not as much as say shad or shiners, but if you can find a lot of small bream schooling there will be a few bass there too.

well i would use a small june bug. i heard they work pretty good. i fish for walleye once durin a mayfly hatch.
