Default fish

Generally how much would a 19 inch bass weigh? I caught my biggest bass today and my scales said a little over 2 1/2 lbs.(i don't have a digital scale) I think my scales are off but i dunno. The fish seemed to weigh more than that... :-/

Caught one that was 21" long and weighed over 6. The fish was as big around as it was long !
A 19" bass depends on the girth. Could be a long slim buck about 3 1/2 lbs or a female ready to lay eggs. Then she would be about 4 1/2-5 lbs. It all depends.
If the fish was with out eggs or was not a buck then it would probably be about 4 lbs. Give or take 1/2 lb.

It would have had to have been extraordinarily skinny to weigh 2 1/2. Most of my 19"ers will run around 3 3/4 if they're of average girth.

Thanks for the link Rebb, I'll add it to favorites... I noticed that by the formula they use they are guessing larger than I would.

I would say they are a little bit heavy too, I caught a 22 inch smallie and they said it weighed almost 6 lbs, but my tourney scale said it weighed 5.2
