I fell in love today!!! ( with a frog)
well it finally warmed up and i got out to go fishing. i have heard alot about the Zoom Horny Toads. so i bought a pack of white ones.. i rigged them weightless . the first cast i ran it acroos the top of the water like a buzz bait and BAM!!! it hit hard and it felt great to get them on a new bait. then the second did the same. finally as the day went on i had to slow it down. i went to the shallows of the pond, or small lake. i would throw it about 2 or 3 inches from the back and watch the fish swarm it. it was awesome seeing that white lure disappear into the fishes mouth. i ended up catching about 10 in a hour or so and missed a ton more. i know that i will never go fishing again without some toads with me. i love that thing... does the other colors work good.. any tips would also be appreciated

Love those things, tried white for the first time last week too. But does it seem to tear real easy where you first put the hook through?

I find horny toads to be the toughest frog I've used so far..that includes sizmic and YUM along with the horny toad.

I use the "toad" too. Up here in Pa the most consistant color for me has been watermelon red.

I have had some fun with frogs, but like you I have had a lot of misses with them. Although, it's still a thrill to see them bust their tails off trying to get it, even if you don't hook em. My personal preference is the GHOST over the frog, but it's down side is lack of weight for casting over long distances.

fish it like a scum frog, on top of any vegetation that forms a mat over the water, or fish it like a buzzbait, or let it go under the surface a tad and swim it..I use the 5/0 and 4/0 gammy offset hook.
I have the all white and also a pack of green with a yellow/orange mix belly |

many people complain of poor hookup ratios using the zoom horny toad. I think this has something to do with how thick it is. I like the slimmer profile of the sizmic frog along with the better hookup ratios from the thinner bait.
