Re: What type of retrieve for a hocust locust?
If my memory serves me correctly, a hocust locust is an XPS bait that is kind of like a jitterbug?...Is this correct?.....
Anyway, if that is right, i would fish it as if it were a normal jitterbug retrieve or that of a popper. Good luck with it!!!! Catch em up Brian |

Hocust Locust is made by arbogast, and I never fished a jitterbug before. :-[

Throw it out and reel it back in with a steady retrieve,
you may stop it, let it sit for a few seconds, then start reeling again, you can vary the speed, slow, or sweep your top tip back everynow and then for more bubbles and ripping action, however a slow retreive with a stop and go is my recommendation 8) |

Re: What type of retrieve for a hocust locust?
ya, they are almost just like the jitterbug. i like to use them like a jitterbug too. fish them around cover/structure.....with a constant retrieve then pause it for up to 30sec....that pause will drive fish crazy! then start that staedy retrieve again......keep doin this to the boat....most of the time the fish will hit when its paused. good luck!

That critter has the buggiest eyes I've ever seen on a bait...
I wish that jitter bug worked for me up here, all the old guys swore by it, but for me its about 8th on my list for topwater favs. Heres my top nine choices I perfer pop r buzzbait spook chugbug tiny torpedo floating stick bait frog jitterbug devils horse I guess I just dont spend enough time on ol wobble mouth, I know darn well its a classic bait that will be around forever |

Re: What type of retrieve for a hocust locust?
I use steady retrieves with my Jitterbugs and I'd do the same if I owned any Hocus Locusts.
