Maine? Are you kidding me, I didn't know their water ever turned liquid - they can't have any worthwhile fishing there!

I went camping on a lake in maine and my sister caught a 21 1/4 inch largemouth that weighed about 7.5lbs. Great fish for her! ;D

i have never really caught any lg mouths but the rivers are full of small mouth. some of the places up north are complaining that the small mouths have come in an taken over the trout and salmon spots so there are no limets.

heynesn,

That Pennobscot river right next to you is loaded with smallmouth bass. Loaded.

What you have to remember is that bass are considered a "warm-water" fish. Most of the fish up here are "cold-water" fish like trout, salmon, lake trout (togue) etc.

So there's actually quite a diversity around. One lake might have largemouth and smallmouth bass, and another might not have any bass, but could have brown trout, lake trout, brook trout, and yellow perch.

Perhaps we could meet up and go fishing sometime. I'm in the Kennebec Valley region, which has some great stripers and bluefish, of course, I can show you where some largemouth are too.
