senkos with O rings
???after landing some nice bass with a 4 inch senko only to then lose the senko I switched to an O ring on the senko and put my Yamamoto split shot hook to the O ring. I continued to have fish hit the senko, but after a few runs the fish spit the hook. this also happened repeatedly when using the new Yamamoto weedless senko hook. what am I doing wrong and what modifications should I make. I like landing and releasing fish, but hate to keep losing the senkos.

Re: senkos with O rings
That's the price you pay with a senko. One fish and they are done. That's why I prefer Tiki Sticks. Don't think you are doing anything wrong. You might check to see if your hook is sharp enough. I recently discovered the hooks that you think are sharp enough out of the package in reality are not.

Re: senkos with O rings
Try a strike king zero. They'll last about 20 fish and its $3 for a pack of four, do the math. I just get all my senkos from bitters, about 40 for $10. Not to mention they're more durable than senkos and catch just as many fish.

Re: senkos with O rings
If a bait works to catch a fish, who cares how long it last ? Besides how would we spend all of our hard earned money on baits if they lasted forever ? ;D P N J

Re: senkos with O rings
My .02 worth. Try using a piece of shrink tubing on your Senkos. It will last much longer. Just get a small piece that fits over the worm, shrink a little and run your hook through there.

Re: senkos with O rings
Electrical and packing tape of similar color to the worm works good too
