Default Finnesse Worming

I was fishing and trying out using a 1/8 ounce ballhead jig and a Fish Blaster Baits "Wormie" in Watermelon Candy youe can see the pics at www.hookerztackle.com/pgfbwormie.html I was wondering if anyone else has luck with this tactic I was just bouncing it along the bottom and over rocks and i had a couple nice keepers.
tight lines,
Justin

I have noticed on Bassmasters a lot of the guys are throwing worms on ball head jigs and getting their fish like that this year with spinning tackle especially Ike/

I think that is what KVD caught that 11-13 on. I've fished that lake they had that tourney on and it is a tough lake to fish. Couple that with a summer pattern and the worm on a lead head is a good choice.

i do it with zoom trick worms.you can cut the worm down if you like to make it shorter or stick with the full seven inch size.they are straight tail slender finesse worms.bassmaster has an article in finesse worming this month.

What weight of a jig head do you guys use? What line size do you guys throw. I usually use like 8lb line on this setup.

Finesse worms aim for fish that are not hungry...

go for fish that are! They're out there, and will bite, even on sunny days.

Look for shade in the weeds and cast a weedless-rigged slug-go or ribbon-tail plastic worm in there. Watch for fish at the surface going for dragonflies, and sight fish!

I find that when using "power" techniques, there are some fish that will bite, and it usually outdoes the finesse stuff, at least for me.

Depends on how fast your lure falls. If the thing falls very slow on its own, use the 1/8 oz weight. If it falls ok on its own, don't.

The goal is for the lure to fall not too slow, and not too fast. Too slow, and the lure doesn't make it down there... too fast, and you just hit mud, and get few sinking twitches (which you want.)

It is these twitches I talk about that really make your lure look like an injured baitfish or dying worm.
