PowerPro. It does cut through pads. Been using if for several years and have been real happy with it.

I have used them both and prefer the PowerPro. It casts better, ties better, is easier to cut, and breaks in faster than the Fireline.

I use both but my 20lb Fireline was put to the test this weekend. Hooked my jig-n-pig on a log and straightened the hook out pulling on it.

When I was in florida I switched midweek to power pro on all my heavy setups, and my problems with fish breaking off ended right then. The 5 pounder I caught even wrapped itself around some bullrushes, and the powerpro cut through them (bullrushes are harder for line to cut through than even pads). As far as braids are concerned I think powerpro right now is the best.

Hands down Power Pro is the better line . It is not is stiff and no memory at all. Draw back is the price... A cheaper alternative and just as good of line in my opinion is the Stren Superbraid it is about haslf the price of Power Pro. Good luck in your decision.

In my humble and lowly opinion, the Fireline is far superior on spinning reels, and the Power Pro is superior on the Baitcasting reels. Both take time to break in, and neither have any memory once they are broken in. Yes they both cut through weeds/lilly pads/ etc, but again in my lowly unqualified onpinion, the Fireline will cut through the weeds better, and your fingers also. And the little bit of knowledge my pea brain has also knows that Fireline is not braid, it's a FUSED line.
