No fish, some brine shrimp. Actually I'm suprised, I thought there are fish in the Dead sea so why not in the Great Salt Lake. Somebody should try and stock some Permit and Tarpon. ;D |

Re: great salt lake
WTL,
What would they eat, each other? I do not think any fish could survive in that muck. If not for the salt content, then due to the temperature of the water. JackL |

Re: great salt lake
No fish or weed or algae in the great salt lake at all. Â*I think about the only living thing is brine shrimp. Â*Almost nothing can survive the saltiness.
Â*WTL, I'm pretty sure that there are no fish in the dead sea either, thus the name "Dead" Sea. Although I do know it doesn't have as high a salinity concentration as the great salt lake... I think. |

You know, you are right! I was thinking of the sea of Galilee. I need to go reread the Bible!

On the dead sea? Yeah, a bunch of people go there just to swim in the water cause the mineral content is so high that it takes no effort to float across the surface. But you've got to take a freshwater shower right afterwards. Plus the mud from the dead sea is really popular as a facial cream, there are several companies that sell bottles of deaad sea mud. |
