Big Fish Just Won't Bite
I was fishing a local res. one day when I saw a couple of small ponds, almost like drainage systems over yonder. I saw it was really shallow and grassy. Maybe 3 ft. at the most. I threw a 4" worm in and caught about 20 small bass in about an hour. Today I went back and it was really small, and saw two really huge bass about 5ft. off shore. I tried throwing everything I had at it and it just kept swimming back and forth over and over again. Water clarity is very clear. Any tips on what I could use or try to catch it with? It almost looked like a small pike, but i couldn't tell? Thanks

Re: Big Fish Just Won't Bite
chances are, if you saw the fish, the fish saw you. big fish don't get big for nothing, they are a different breed, could be a little smarter, more observant, different behavior, different feeding patterns, etc. Next time you see a big fish, back off the location slowly as possible, wait a few minutes, then present the bass with the best lure/retrieve combo that you know/have.
There's one bass I know of and he just acts nutty. Always swimming in a circle feeding on bugs, can't catch him on anything, hopefully I have the answer for that next time I see him, made a floating looking bug with enough weight to get it out to him. |
