what is the best color worm to use in muddy water?

first of all you still aint answered my post asking what lake/river you are trying to fish in nc.
90% of the time june bug will be the color you are looking for.

Depends. On a dark day I use darker/more natural colors. If the sun is shining, I like bright colors. If you are fishing real muddy water-the kind that looks like chocolate milk-I throw either a Cordell Spot or Diamond Shad-loud rattles, of a spinnerbait with a big, single colorado blade. Puts out more vibration than a double willow or tandem setup and is easier for the fish to find using it's lateral line. Same reason single blade spinnerbaits are popular for night fishing.

oh !!! tillery ... i would rather drop a tree on my leg then willingly fish that blasted lake. deep river is ok but the beast-tillery-is a lot like badin or so they tell me-yeah right-not sure which end you fish but 60 % of the time the lower end is clear -not this winter tho- up stream from the 24/27 bridge it is "supose" to fish like high rock. i have not found this to be true at either end.this lake fishes like well...tillery to be honest. june bug worms or red shad -lower end- i have has some success with a jointed shad rap on the lower end the old lilly bridge is one area i like to fish.
