Lake Norman
For those of you that have fished lake norman, whats the water clarity on it? I was looking at some satellite photos of the area and it looke that about half way from wylie to norman that the water cleared up all the sudden. Is this just a seasonal thing, or is norman clear year round?

Re: Lake Norman
not always some times it can get muddy. what the photo's don't show is just how crowded this lake can get during the warmer months. not to mention the dam 100 foot long boats/ships that cruise on this lake.

http://terraserver.com this is satelite photo web site, type in the location, and play around with the zoom feature to get what you want, and it's free. Lizards |

Re: Lake Norman
I think you may be noticing just the transition between different aerial images. They couldn't possibly use a satellite to photograph the entire US at once from space, creating a seamless image, instead they have been taking pictures for several years and integrating them together into a type of mosaic. Now if you take a pic one morning with a fog coming off the water, and try to combine it with another pic taken on a summer day after a heavy rain then you are going to really notice the edges.
This should illustrate what I mean better than I can say it. Is this what you are talking about? |

Re: Lake Norman
I've found these type photo's on Terraserver Images.
You have an option, either aerial or topo, the topo gives road numbers, but unfortunately they don't always give road names. |
