Waveworms?
Have any of you heard of Waveworms? The ones that I have are 5" Tiki Sticks.

Re: Waveworms?
I love them, NJ! For a Senko-type bait they are just about all I use. The best colors I have found are watermelon/chartreuse swirl and baby bass/pearl swirl. although for wacky rigging I like the watermelon red flake and have been impressed with the redbug/chartreuse tip Tiki Dip Sticks (Thanks, bassfisher02 for the heads up on those).

Re: Waveworms?
well, reb i got the cinnamon/blue flake. the reason i got those is because kevin told me lost night that if you fish a mucky pond i should use dark colors. is the cinnamon/blue flake ok?

Re: Waveworms?
Absolutely! I don't think there is a bad color Tiki Stick. I've got some in that color (I think-have to go check ;D). Had my best success not moving the bait, just letting it sit-dead sticking it. For some reason they like it just sitting still.

Re: Waveworms?
Like this:
Except I keep the point of the hook buried in the plastic rather than Texposed like it shows here Or wacky: Either way is effective. |

Re: Waveworms?
But if you keep the point of the hook in the worm than how is it supposed to hook the bass?

Re: Waveworms?
The baits are soft, so when you set the hook it pulls through the plastic into the fish's mouth. What some folks do is push the hook out and then pull i back into the bait so there is already a channel cut for the hook, but I've never felt like I needed to. Wacky rigged the hook is exposed.

Re: Waveworms?
i love the tiki stiks! especially in redbug. i love the dipstiks even more, in redbug/chart tip. they work wonders in murky/muddy/stained water. they are a great brand of baits. there color selection is awesome! i also like the lizards. i find they are alittle sticky tho, so make sure to put lots of scent on them.

Re: Waveworms?
I started using these last summer and was suprised how well they worked. I picked up the 3.5" watermelon/red and rigged them wacky style with a split shot about 8-10" above the hook. I'd throw them against the bluffs and just let it sink, on the way down they would either pick it up and swim or straight up SLAM it and run. ;D

Re: Waveworms?
Hey,
I just seen some new colors for around here in the tiki sticks. I don't know if they are already where you are. A couple of the colors I can remember are Bruised Orange, Watermelon w/blk Flake, White, Grasshopper, Copper Dust. I am planning on trying out a couple of them. They also have the watermelon w/blk flake with the chartreuse tail. |

Re: Waveworms?
Devil's Tounge floats, its injected with air while its being made. hundreds of little air bubbles in the worm. Pretty cool......

Re: Waveworms?
Are they fished best weightless? If you texas rig them, will it cause the horizontal falling action to not work?

Re: Waveworms?
when i fish it weightless, the falling motion seems to be a back and forth motion. it really depends on where you place the hook on the worm. some days the best fishing can be weightless, other days i find mysely puting a bullet weight on. it all depends on what the fish like. during spawn, they were killing them on weightless, but lately, i have been using weighted more. i find a good technique to peg the bullet weight about half a foot above the worm. then i real fairly fast, and stop. the fish will usually hit when you. good luck.

Ain't many folks that use those. Tough to beat on a split shot rig. |
