Artwork
What type of artwork do you all like?
I have started collecting some art work (we are remodeling our house) . Two of my favorite artists are Nene Thomas and Amy brown. My favorite ones are The Oracle and Wisdom, both done by Nene Thomas. My favorite by Amy Brown is Morgana II http://www.nenethomas.com/galleries/prints/wisdom.html http://www.nenethomas.com/galleries/...lep&i.html http://www.amybrownart.com/images2_2.../morgana_2.jpg I have these three and several other by Nene Thomas so far. Let me know what you think and what kind of artwork that you like. These are my bedroom pictures. My living room i have 2 prints one is a Ocean print of a Blue Marlin and the other is a Bass print. Both are limited editions. I don't have a link to these, i purchased both of these at stores. Sandra |

Re: Artwork
My family is very big into antique oil paintings. Â*My mother actually is a dealer and restores them on the side. Â*
Almost all of the paintings in our house, save the ones done by me or my mom, are at least 100 years old. Â* A few date back to the renaissance. Â* Here are a couple... This is in the foyer. It is spanish, of course the subject matter is Mary with baby Jesus. This painting is older, probably Mary Magdeline per my Mom. Hanging on the wall to the right are some vestements from the Vatican, 14th century if I remember correctly. This is only 10 or so years old, cause my Mom painted it herself. Actually it is a copy, we used to have the original but we sold it and my Mom painted this to replace it. |

Re: Artwork
i have to amitt i don't have the "normal" paintings. and no fishing ones. most of mine are orginal art from my dark period when i was bent on self destruction. i can say that i am the only trained stone engraver on this board-read that "the man will put your name on a head stone"- and have a master's degree in art. thu i choose to use none of it..

Re: Artwork
IL, Its good to see you lurking in the shadows, but somehow I don't think a poster of portland mortar mix counts.Do they still make that any more ?Maybe a few babes with hawks and trowels throwing mud on the bricks. ;D Bosch was a dark minded artist.

Re: Artwork
Very dark, yet simplistic. It cries out, come hold me and we'll fish together forever. The simple white backdrop and the thin yet bold lines say " Im making a statement with my work". Ill go $2500. Oh wait, the dang charity thing again. 8)

Rob,
If you draw a picture of the Virgin Mary somewhere in the background, just a tiny spec will do, someone will bid high 4 it. Sandra Did anyone at all even like my pictures ? |

Re: Artwork
Abstract art is one of the biggest rackets in mankind.
Think about it, the same people who peddle this crap as being genius are the ones profiting from it. The last great artist was Normal Rockwell. Picasso can kiss my @ss. Step down off the soapbox now.... |

Re: Artwork
Robby,If the fact you work in a machine shop and draw figures with only three fingers on each hand is kind of scarey. I am just kidding with ya again, but seriously, alot of the guys in the machine shop at work are missing various parts of fingers and thumbs from being in too much of a hurry. P N J
