Spare spools
Does anyone use spare spools for their baitcasters? I fish from shore sometimes and I usually carry one rod. Sometimes, for different situations you might need braid or flourocarbon or mono. I would need one for a curado. Does the spool from a curado fit a curado superfree? Where would one order a spare spool? Thanks.

I dont trust myself enough either. Best bet is spooling up with a good high poundage mono. If super lines are your thing, get a fused line, not a braid.

Just carry another rod it would probably be easier than changing spools on a baitcaster that way you dont mess up at the fishing hole then have to turn around and go home

The spool of the Curado 200 does not fit in the Curado SF, you can get it as a spare from a Shimano repair shop.

I will say that if you are gonna try to change your spool on a baitcaster out fishing, good luck, and watch out for parts being lost. As for a spinning reel, I carry spare spool always. I just carry a spare reel for my baitcasting, easy to switch quickly. I couldn't imagine trying to change a baitcaster spool out on the lake.

I do for a couple of spinning reels but not baitcasters. I think it would be more trouble than it would be worth. I'd just get another rod. A good way to do that if you can't afford one right now is dump your change in a jar. When it gets full cash it in. You would be surprised at the way it adds up.

Changing the spool if you have pop out centrifigul brake control is real easy, just pop of the cover like if you were adjusting the brake, the just pull out the spool, replace it, snap back on, your done.
