Default quesDark Cedar Water

I would like to discuss fishing techniques in dark cedar water. Seems everytime I go out for bass, I catch chain pickeral. Wondering if there are any general techniques. Water is usually about 70-80. I fish the lilly pads, with weedless hooks. Any comments?

that is the tanic acid in the water 8) Â*heres what you should go by......

clear water...lighter/natural colors Â* muddy/tanic/stained water........darker colors. chartruese works well in both as do june bug and redshad....there are a few more that work well i cant think of at the time.....alot of times the pike will be unavoidable.......they hang out and hit the same areas and lures bass do. i would just keep tryin the areas for bass...not much you can do about pike...

Thanks for the insight, I've been fishing around here for years, and only a few big bass, I think the pike hit before the bass can get to the lure. The lakes around here dont have any deep water either, deepest spot might be 6 foot. I'll keep castin.
