Went pond fishing. It was 72 degrees, cloudy, 4PM in the afternoon. Caught 2, 2 pounders! on a excallibur crankbait!

My wive's family is from a farming/ranching community east of where we live. I never go to visit without a couple of rods. They seem to think that is strange. They all have stock tanks, but they don't fish. Now THAT is strange. And there are some nice bass in some of those tanks. Best so far was just shy of 6 pounds.

Nitro you have the same problem as i do. my in-laws live about an hour away from me. they have 2 ponds about an acre to acre and a half big. my wife kept getting mad because i would always take my rods with me so i just left one of my old rods there, now all she can fuss about is my tackle box. ;D

last summer i decided to fish after dark. something i had never done at this pond. there was no moon and very dark. all i took was a black hulla popper. i only caught 1 fish. didnt have anything to get a weight with so i just got the lenght. 24.5 inches long and very healthy i was happy with just the one fish.

Well, it being Easter weekend, we had to go visit the wife's family again. We wound up on one of the stock tanks on Saturday morning about 8. By 10 I had landed 16 fish on a Zara Spook. Of course I lost that particular lure to a tree. All of the fish were "keeper" size, but none were kept. The largest was about 4 1/2 pounds. The wife caught 17 for the day, I wound up with 27, and the rest of her family caught a few, but they aren't really fisher-people. If it wasn't for the cold front arriving, they would have never been able to get me away from there, but the hail hastened my departture.

Good fishing all!
