A trailer with a trailer hook? Only if you want to.

Trigger more bites? Depends on the bait and the kind of trailer, but it won't hurt. I never throw a jig without a trailer, a buzzbait without a tailer hook, and very rarely a spinnerbait without a trailer and/or a trailer hook.

Reb. What do you have on the spinnerbait for a "wont let the trailer hook slide off thing". I forgot what the heck that thing is calles. Any way, I've read about people taking a hole punch and making little plastic disks from a milk jug or something and that kind of looked like it might be it. I've just always used the surgical tubing.

Now you have seen it ;D. Seriously, I use a hole punch on a coffee can lid and use one of the disks as a hook keeper. Just put the trailer hook on and then punch the point of the main hook through the center of one of the disks and push it down past the barb.
