One of the best times to be on the water is in the afternoon when a storm front is moving in. It turns the fish on!

Ah the weather, lol.
Yes, the weahter can and does affect fish a lot. A cold front is usually defined with high winds, usually out of the north, high skies, or bluebird skies, and high pressure. These are some of the most beautiful conditions to fish in, but some of the worst to actually catch fish in. Now, the weather conditions are a variable in the whole fishing experience, just like water depth, water clarity, and so on. It being a variable means that nothing is set in stone, but activity is generally decreased during high pressure systems. Fish will hold a lot tighter to cover than usual and will be harder to pull off of that cover. Also, a lot of fish will suspend, and we all know how hard suspended fish are to catch. Slowing down your techniques and fishing each individual type of structure or cover is essential. Fish slow, and fish purposely. Make several casts to each particular target, and don't be afraid to try something out of the ordinary. Good fishing
