What kind? Spinning, baitcast?
If you are looking at a baitcast check out the Bass Pro Shops Extreme reel. They are all I use and are on sale for $49 last time I checked.

im lookin at the 5 bearing one. walmart has em. ratio is 6:1:!, im pretty sure. had the site saved on the computer upstairs. and rebasser, the thing i hate about BPS is that its not in NJ. that means i have to pay shipping, which pretty much cancells out most sales

Extreme like Rebbasser suggested is a good option or add 10 bucks more to that 60 budget and get a Daiwa Procaster 6+1, it´s an excellent reel.

Bass Kicker, Raul was right on the money. The Extreme reb preaches or the procaster6+1 reel are good quality reels for the money.I have both and they still work well over the years. P N J

Damn bass kicker next time you need to buy a reel give me a holler and I'll buy one and send it to ya (that is with you sending the funds lol). Anyway the ambassaduer 4600C3 is a great reel at the $60 price range from wally world.

I've moved away from the Abu's now that i fish a lot harder and expect more from my gear. For the average guy, a 4600 C3 or 4 or a 5500 C3 should work fine. If you take good care of them, they'll last a lifetime. My dad still has a 5000 from about 30 odd years ago that still works alright. I've had a couple break down on me and have gone to more high quality reels. the garcia's ain't smooth cranking or sexy looking like the expensive stuff, but overall, they should work for you.

If your looking for just one reel for all your fishing I would go with a spinning reel and the Mitchell 300X is one greatest reels for ther money out there. The 300X black reel has 5 bearings and costs about 32 bucks, the 300X gold has 9 bearings and is about 45 bucks. It has some great features and a good buy for the money. I love the ones I have and I have both kinds.
