Senko/Tiki question

Looking for some good opinions on fishing with Senko's or Tiki sticks. Style and presentation. North East North Carolina is starting to warm up and I'm gonna hit it hard all next week. You guys are swearing by those Senko's so I'm gonna give em a whirl.

There are a number of ways to fish them. I like to rig them weedless and weightless like a T-rig and work them with gentle twitches of the rod tip, and wacky rig them.

I rig my Senkos weedless and fish them weightless. I cast out, let it sink, then lift and drop again, repeating this until I'm out of the strike zone or until the bait's back to the boat or shore.

Alot of people use'em with wieghts but I use a 1/8 or 1/4 ounce conehead. With the senko's[GARY YAMAMOTO] I will sometimes use no weight cause they're so heavy , but with the wave's I will use a WIEGHT. If there is cypress trees I would flipp the worms under the leaves/grass that will hang at where the water level of the trees stay's. If you are fish'in standing timber use a ONE TURN POP POP POP TWO TURNS POP POP POP AND SO ON.If your fish'in grassy flats with no cover use a 3 second rest pop 3 times 3 second rest and so one.Hope that helped!

thanks guys......using your advice I hooked 4 today. Biggest being 6.7lbs. It was windy and I had one swallow it (had to bring him back to the house).

why did you have to bring him home? how far did he swallow it? if it was still visible, you could of used the ''through the gills'' technique. if it was all the way swallowed, then you could of cut the line with a foot or so line still attached. theres a good chance he will die, but its better to give him a chance. and plus the dead fish could bring food and all that good stuff to the rest of the fish. anyways just keep that in mind next time.

Be patient! When you use Senko or Tiki Worm, you have to be patient.
It has its own action. Slower is better. Watch out when it falls.
That is the best plastic bait I've ever found so far.

heh,one weekend,i missed 17.not enough backbone on the rod.used them weedless and weightless over some weedbeds.the bass went crazy

Nah Bassfisher02, he swallowed through. The hookset pretty much determined his fate. He was leaking blood like a stuck pig. I hear what you say about leaving them for the whole food chain thing, but this was a private pond that I had permission on and didn't want the owner to show up and see a fish bled out that washed up on the bank you know what I mean. Better to have him sitting in my freezer waiting some friends of his.

Its like trout.Just fry it and eat it with fries and it taste like a cut of heaven

I fished them T-rigged the other day. I cast them out and let them fall. One thing I noticed, they hit them either on the fall or after I just started to move them a little. The other thing I noticed is that if I tried to set the hook right away I lost the fish. I let them run a little then set the hook. Didn't lose any after that. Other times they hit differently. So try both ways if you lose them at first. Tried wacky rig and they didn't want it that way. Also, fished tiki the same way,T-rigged. Had to let them run a little before setting the hook.
