I've been using 10-12-14 trilene XL for for all spinnerbaits and buzzbaits, going to try some power pro and get on the forum bandwagon rofl

I would say mono because there is alittle stretch so you don't rip the hook out of the fish's mouth before it's a solid hook set.

the reason i was thinkin about the braid was because of the amount of northren pike and musky in the waters i fish

Braided line won't really help pike and musky from cutting it. A steel leader would be the best way to go for that. I've had 5lb bowfin cut 50 braid with their teeth!

i have never had them bite through 14 lb braid and when you put a steel leader on the bass seam to ignore the bait i am tossing
so what is better mono or braid

12 or 14 lb Trilene XT for abrasion resistence and strength. braid will just rip the hook out of the fish's mouth unless you barely set the hook.

i fish braid for everything except finesse.when spinnerbaiting you can feel the blades better.when crankbaiting you feel everything.just back off the drag a little and use a softer tip rod.i use cajun red cast on spinning and have 1 baitcaster rigged with it for when they are finicky about the line.

Mono. If you're fishing a spinnerbait with braided line and get hit the braided line has no stretch and will jerk the bait out of the fishes mouth because with a spinnerbait you're usually in constant contact with it. Same goes for a crankbait. I throw at least 15 lb. Big Game with my spinnerbaits.

i get so confused with all this line talk....sheesh....i recently tried cajun line it's red and disappears in 3 ft of water....12 pound test...it's a improved mono line....i really like it....haven't lost a fish yet on it....i use it for everything so far...throwing cranks and wormin it.....my fishing partner has been watching me and has been so impressed with it he is now going to try it....i stay away from those harsh lines for they tend to put nicks in the eyes and undo wear and tear on the reels.....
