Re: stupid question
Some people say it's due to the size of your hand.
Big hands , you can handle a round reel, small hands a small reel is good. |

Re: stupid question
Whatever you feel comfortable with. I like low profile reels as opposed to rounf ones beacuse they're easier to palm for me.

Re: stupid question
by elongated you mean high profile and round you mean low profile. The high profile reels somtimes carry the advantage and are the new models. They are lighter, easy to take apart, more bearings, ext. some people like the low profile cause they are traditional, and i think they last longer, made from better materials like metals and such. the newer models of the low profile reels also carry more bearing. another thing is the high profile normaly has a lower gear ratio than the high profile does.

Re: stupid question
Another thing is the round reels, on the average but not all, hold more line. So they'll handle the heavier line better. Thats why you see alot of the pros using them on their flippin sticks.
